    Kalkaji, one of the 70 constituencies in Delhi, is poised for a fierce contest between Delhi CM Atishi, BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’ Alka Lamba.

    It is a part of the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, which also includes Ambedkar Nagar, Chhatarpur, Bijwasan, Sangam Vihar, Deoli, Tughlakabad, Palam, Badarpur, and Mehrauli.

    The seat’s political dynamics have shifted in the last four elections, with victories going to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress.

    In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the seat after receiving 55,897 votes. Dharmveer from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got 44,504 votes, while Shivani Chopra of the Indian National Congress (INC) received 4,965 votes.

    In 2015, AAP’s Avtar Singh won the seat after he received 55,104 votes. BJP’s Harmeet Singh Kalka was second with 35,335 votes while INC’s Subhash Chopra secured 13,552 votes. The 2013 saw BJP’s Harmeet Singh Kalka clinch the seat, defeating Dharambir Singh (AAP). Subhash Chopra from INC managed to get 25,787 votes. Before this, Chopra was elected from this seat.

    Kalkaji Polling and Results

    The Kalkaji constituency, alongside 69 other constituencies in Delhi, went to polls in a single phase on February 5, with votes set to be counted on February 8.
